Anne Hastings

|
| Anne Hastings was made redundant six years ago at the age of fifty and has been able to make up for earlier regrets by taking full advantage of the Adult Education facilities in Wolverhampton to attain a BA degree two years ago, and now a Master's. The latter has been funded through her Employers', City of Wolverhampton College, Staff Development programme. She is willing to admit to her age in the hope of encouraging others in similar circumstances. |
| Her specialist area is Printmaking. Inspiration comes from an interest in nature and gardens, including not just the organic forms but also the man-made structures and designs, and the relationships between the two. |
| The ancient process of woodcuts was the obvious choice for a series of six MAZE prints - crisp and pure; black and white! With the initial thought of then printing A over B the process itself then took over. Not only have eighty individual prints evolved but also the fascinating effects of the overprinting of the ink which produce results which could not be mimicked by a computer. |
