The Concept of Dance

We are taught how to talk, walk, sing and dance. They are techniques that are not natural.
Ballet is controlled by technique that requires passion, stamina and emotion. When presented in a theatrical environment all dance comes alive with the assistance of music, exotic lighting and the enthused audience. I depict a genre of photography that portrays the valuable intensity of such a complex arena.
Ballet is a form of theatrical dance that began to evolve in Western Europe during the Renaissance with French being the international language. The music associated with the Ballet is delicate but intense. Tchaikovsky's pieces always fill a theatre with fulfilment. The German fairy tale Swan Lake and Christmas story of The Nutcracker are both delightful productions with exquisite music.
All art requires formal components. These include technologies, social practice and economic circumstance. The technologies relate to the physical technology required to produce the image. The social practice refers to any political or institutional relations that channel the way the image is seen and the economic practice relates to the financial struggles that occur along the way of production. Within these boundaries I am trying to present a fantasy of which my subjects lie between a conscious and an unconscious state of mind, like a daydream.
